Time Zero Readiness® One-Stop Comprehensive AED Program Management Solution

CPR and AED providers that are part of a corporate or public access defibrillation program have the best chance of discovering a victim of cardiac arrest at or shortly after Time Zero, the moment that cardiac arrest strikes. A CPR and AED provider that is ready to respond and gives care to a victim in cardiac arrest prior to EMS arrival more than doubles the chance of survival. MDSI’s Time Zero Readiness® Program provides all of the critical AED oversight and support elements to maintain program readiness and regulatory compliance.Contact MDSI to set up your program today.

Medical Direction & Oversight

What is Medical Direction/Medical Oversight and why do I need it?

Medical Direction or Medical Oversight refers to state requirements to have a physician managing an AED program. Each state has its own requirements and MDSI supports programs in all 50 states.

Even if your state is quiet regarding Medical Oversight or Medical Direction, we have found that our program gives you the best chance of success in responding to a Sudden Cardiac Arrest. Our comprehensive preparedness and review serve as powerful risk management and quality assurance tools.

Our Medical Direction/Oversight service includes:

  • Prescription and authorization for AED use per FDA and state/local requirements
  • Assistance with regulatory compliance and state/local AED registration
  • AED response protocol and review of organization-specific policy
  • Post-event support that includes assistance downloading data or a loaner device so we can do the download
  • Review of AED data and incident report of sudden cardiac arrest events with Physician Report for internal benchmarking and program improvement

Prescription Only Services

What if I just need a prescription?

The FDA requires a prescription for the sale and use of most AEDs. While AED users should have a complete Oversight and Support or Medical Direction/Oversight package, there are instances when only a prescription is needed to fulfill regulatory requirements. MDSI offers a Prescription Only service to assist AED purchasers in meeting FDA requirements for the purchase of an AED.
